My beginnings were humble and simple. I was born in a small village in the state of Punjab, located in the north of India. I was surrounded by salt of the earth people, who lived off the fat of the land through farming. I would walk narrow dirt pathways to school, with the occasional glimpse of a peacock flaring its feathers. In such remarkable beauty, came a society entrenched in patriarchal beliefs. Women were subjugated to submissive roles.
I came from a very traditional family, and was not permitted to engage in sports. I therefore channeled all my energy into education. I obtained my Bachelor of Arts, and subsequently my Masters in Economics.
I met my husband shortly thereafter, and moved to Canada. My husband, a powerlifter at that time, took me to the gym for the very first time. I performed the simple task of walking the treadmill the very first day, and I absolutely despised it. It took energy, time and effort, nothing that I was willing to expend. Nonetheless, I decided to give it a month, before deciding to abandon this expedition or to continue.
The month passed fast, and I gradually began to see results. I began to explore weights, and expand my goals inside the gym. It took remarkable and strenuous effort, but the blood, sweat and tears paid off.

The results strengthened my resolve and bolstered my faith that hard work, dedication, and sacrifice were key ingredients in the journey to obtain one’s fullest physical potential. This fueled my appetite to learn more over the years.
Eventually, after working 12 years in the financial industry, I decided to transition into becoming a full- time personal trainer. It has allowed me to fulfill my long time desire of inspiring and empowering other women to achieve their personal best, and achieving their highest pinnacle of personal success.
However, there is no greater sense of empowerment than serving as a role model for my two kids. I am a firm believer in practicing what you preach. I strongly encourage them to stay fit and focused, to pursue their goals with tremendous dedication, and commit themselves to excellence.
I am a living embodiment that everything is possible through hard work and sacrifice. Watching my kids grow into strong and confident individuals, pushes me to always do better, and continue to remain a positive role model for them.
